About
Lt Col Md Iftekharul Alam is a hard working, promising and highly efficient ENT and Cochlear Implant Surgeon. He is a second generation ENT Surgeon. His father is also an ENT surgeon and his mother is a Child specialist. His wife is also a renowned Gynaecologist of Bangladesh Army.
He has passed MBBS in 2002 and joined in Bangladesh Army in 2004. He was posted as a Regimental Medical officer in an army unit in Chittagong Hill tracts. In 2009 he has passed DLO and in 2010 he has passed MCPS. After that he was posted as a Departmental head as a Graded Specialist in ENT in Border Guard Hospital. In 2013 he successfully completed FCPS in ENT and posted in CMH Mymensingh as well as CMH Ghatail as Departmental head as a Classified ENT Specialist. During this time he was also appointed as a Second in Command of that hospital as an administrator.
In 2017 he went to Madras ENT Research Foundation, Chennai, India for one year Post Doctoral Fellowship training in Implantation Otology (Cochlear Implant). Again in 2019 he went to Korea, 2023 Poland and Austria for advanced training in Implantation Otology.
Since 2018 he has been posted in CMH Dhaka as a Classified Specialist in ENT Head Neck Surgery and Implantation Otologist.
He is also working as a Program Director and Chief Cochlear Implant Surgeon at CMH Dhaka. He has operated more than 430 Cases of Cochlear Implant surgery so far. Which is highest number of CI surgery for any Bangladeshi doctor.
